Ir Professor Onyx Wai is Expert Members of HKIWSS. He served as Professor in Department of Civil and Environment Engineering of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He was past president of International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research – Hong Kong Chapter (IAHR-HK). Professor Wai is a famous international expert in hydraulics, he has been handling a lot of hydraulic and flooding studies for large scale projects for government departments (DSD, CEDD etc).
 
Ir Dr. CHAN Hon Fai  BBS
 

Ir Dr. CHAN Hon Fai BBS is the president of HKIWSS. He was the past chairperson of Advisory Committee on Water Supplies and has more than 40 years of experience in environmental engineering and management. He has been in charge of numbers of projects related to water quality and pollution control. Dr. CHAN has been teaching renewable energy including nuclear energy at HKU on part time basis.

The flooding is commonly in summer date. Good flooding management and drainage impact assessment are most benefit to Hong Kong.

This webinar will discuss flooding management in Hong Kong area. Hydraulic considerations are introduced to prevent loss of property and economic activities. Drainage impact assessment is preventive technique to estimate the ability of rainwater discharge. Case studies, Q & A will be provided.
