    1. Sensors & IoT: Serving as the “nervous system” of water supply networks for real-time monitoring of system performance and warning of anomalies.
    2. Digital Twin & Modelling: Simulating a “parallel universe” of water supply systems for optimal system design and operations.
    3. Big Data & AI: Extracting the full value of operational data for predictive analytics Tand pre-emptive actions.
  • There is a panel discussion after the speech, attendance includes speaker, representatives from HKIWSS and the Hong Kong University Research Centre.

SPEAKERS:

Mr. Roger Y.L. WONG, Director of Water Supplies, Water Supplies Department, HKSAR Government.

  • Mr. Roger WONG, as the first speaker of the pivotal dialogue in this lecture series, will unveil Hong Kong’s transformation journey towards a digitalised, innovative and resilient water future. Amid escalating global water challenges, this lecture will explore how digitalisation is redefining urban water security.
  • Roger will contextualize the urgency of modernising water supply systems, highlighting vulnerabilities in conventional infrastructure and recounting WSD’s evolution from reactive maintenance to preventative strategies and now towards predictive management.

  1. Prof CS Poon, Head of CEE to give a welcome speech.
  2. Ir Dr. HF Chan, President of HKIWSS to introduce the talk series and the speaker.
  3. Ir Roger Wong, Director of WSD to deliver his speech.
  4. Dr. Eric Wong, Vice President of HKIWSS to give a closing remark.

CPD CERTIFICATE: 

  • 1.5 hours CPD certificate will be issued to participants after event and verified.
